Nothing says "surf" on a colored shirt, and Aloha, as the beach head, spare a thought for this piece of fashion history's colorful past …
Hawaiian shirts were popular long before Elvis Presley with a red Hawaiian shirt on the cover of the album "Blue Hawaii "soundtrack in 1961. In fact, the modern Hawaiian shirt arrived at the beginning of 1930.
A Chinese trader named Ellery Chun of King-Smith Clothiers and dry goods, owner of a Waikiki store. Ellery began sewing brightly colored Hawaiian shirts for sale to tourists and kimono fabrics made from old that there is still action.
The Honolulu Advertiser newspaper quickly built Hawaiian shirt "and the presentation of the term Ellery brand. The first publication in the Honolulu Advertiser Hawaiian shirts Chun was published in June 1935. Local residents and wait … particularly those in the community of surfing, and tourists descended on Chun's store and bought every shirt he had.
In recent years, open all the leading brands and began to Hawaii manufacturing and selling Hawaiian shirts in mass. chain stores in Hawaii, mass-produced models, even using Hawaiian shirt as his uniform employees. In places like Hawaii T-Central, you will see some of the best examples of Aloha Men's shirts and clothing.
After World War 2, many servicemen / women returned to the U.S. from Asia and the Pacific Islands with Hawaiian shirts that were made in Hawaii since 1930. While tourists have started coming to Hawaii 2 Post World War II in 1950's dress shirts color tropical print for men and women has become standard souvenirs for travelers.
In 1962, a trade association of manufacturing Hawaii is known as Fashion Guild began to promote Aloha style shirts and clothing for use in the office / workplace, including costumes. In a campaign called "Operation Liberation", the Guild has fought two Hawaiian shirts to all members of the Hawaii House of Representatives and the Senate of Hawaii. It was a success because soon a resolution was passed by the Senate recommended that the aloha clothing be worn during the summer in Hawaii.
In 1965, Bill Foster, father, then president of the Hawaii Fashion Guild, led a lobbying campaign for staff and regular "Aloha Friday, a day when all employers allow their employees to wear Hawaiian shirts on the last working day of the week. In 1966, Aloha officially began on Friday in Hawaii and has spread throughout the world – even if our days is commonly known as "Casual Friday".
