As in June 2010, if elections were held, the results of these elections was 51% compared to 49% on an equal footing. It shows that the outcome of the election may well go for the SLPP or the APC at this time. The implication for national development is that the two regions separately and identified themselves in terms of color: South – Green and Northwest – Red. Power-hungry politicians who want to continue to have a grip on power will use this and concentrate on one region in terms of development at the expense of other regions.
I see this slowly surface in Sierra Leone, with a number of development projects carried to an area we all know. If relate this with the recent past, reminds us that social exclusion, deprivation and suppression of opinion led to the carnage and human suffering as a result the fact that those who have not been able to express their discontent with rebels resorting to war. It is hoped that the lessons learned from this bitter and main actors do their best to ensure regional balance. However, my opinion is that most people who are determined to make a regional division in this country once the believe that war has devastated its political program can be achieved with youth. There is a misunderstanding and a distant dream – Hair.
Any lucid Sierra Leone now should be aware that depending on youth to win the election is like standing on a tightrope with no support to hold it in place. The government SLPP in the past is a strong testimony of the prosecution to confirm this. Tejan Kabba led government's tried everything to close the gap between rich and poor by minimum wage setting and on the bridge, while the gap between old and young in terms of appointments of civil servants from the public and private sectors. In addition, job creation has been the driving force that saw the creation of the NRA, NaCSA, SLRA, Nasser and other institutions, all in an effort to create jobs for young people. Do young people appreciate this? 2007 election results may suggest a better response. But what is important to note is that young people are interested with nothing but bread on the table. Any diet that does not meet these requirements must be prepared to back the mantle of leadership of the peaceful opposition.
Three years in power (2007-present), creating employment for the dismissals and appointments in the same position the party with friends. How many young people have benefited from this? Resource centers to address this problem are Sani Abacha, Jimmy King Street, Swazzy, Azoluni Motor Park, Makeni etc. All these angry young men who see no future in their daily activities without doubt going to eat the pot but to vote in another boat come 2012. Then those who believe that divide and rule policy is the only launch vehicle for victory in 2012 are preparing for a retreat wet bed very uncomfortable.
The outlook for the map projection painted above might get greener. Effective governance in Sierra Leone for three years. The fourth year stage is the exit strategy that ministers focus anything other than getting rich, not too sure if the upcoming elections could favor or not. Even when it favors do not know if the president will keep them or not. It that the time is devoted to "chapings" (fly) rather than the provision of services. The fifth year is politics. Young people are more willing to listen to anyone in the government of the truth. His interest is his time.
Prospects for the previous projection is sure to get more green due to voter apathy could put in the northwest, especially when some of the leading bank in the APC are back, to be influential in their regions. In the map above, it is clear that the current government should do more to get the opposition in the interest of the future.
