Catch Bass/Crappie to eat?
I have been fishing for a little while, but normally do catch and release. If I wanted to keep a few to eat, what is the best way to do it?
Should I keep them on a stringer, then throw them in a cooler at the end of the day? Should I kill them or drain them first?
Any tips on what I need to do to get them from the lake to the plate would be appreciated. Thanks.
Keep them in a live well if you can, fillet them and get the fillets on Ice as quickly as possible. Eat them fresh that night!
Beer batter is an excellet recepie. Mix 1 cup of flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 can of beer. Seperate the white of one egg and beat it untill it is fluffy and you can make it peak. GENTLY mix the egg white into the batter. Dry the fish very well and coat in batter, fry in frying pan with 1/4″ cooking oil. remove when golden brown. You won’t be disappointed.
