Different types of Tex-Mex
Tex-Mex is a name used to describe dishes found in Texas, which is mainly the United States. Combine foods available in the United States with traditional kitchen Mexicana. Some of Tex-Mex foods may differ from Mexican dishes, but still refer to the Mexican food in Texas. People living outside of Texas sometimes refer the Tex-Mex as Southwestern food.
Tex-Mex is considered "old original American cuisine" by some. Tex-Mex was named in 1875. It began when the Texas and Mexico Railway was nicknamed Tex-Mex to refer to the railway and describe Mexicans born in Texas. The mission mixed food in Texas, with Spanish and Mexican. It got its name by Texans (Hispanics born in Texas). Different regions of the state maintains similar foods together. Finally meats such as goat's head and cow has gained popularity. In the twentieth century, cheese was added because it was readily available and inexpensive in the United States.
Over 60% of the population of Texas has ancestors who were from Mexico. No wonder why this state has become popular by Tex-Mex dishes. Tex-Mex is the most popular in the south central part of the state, including the cities of Austin and San Antonio. Tex-Mex dishes using ingredients are garlic, sour cream, cilantro, beans, avocado and chorizo, a spicy Mexican sausage from Spain. Chiles are also important in Tex-Mex dishes.
Some Mexican dishes have a different taste in Tex-Mex include chorizo. This is a sausage is spicy, seasoned with red chile and garlic. It is a food that is served for breakfast. The sausage Tex-Mex is said to taste different by its spice blend. Tortillas Tex-Mex are also different. The tortillas are usually thicker and harder than in other tortillas places. Pozole stew which is a Tex-Mex put them in touch. Tex-Mex style has many green peppers added which makes it very different from the traditional dish.
Salsa Picante sauce is a puree of red peppers, onions and tomatoes with added spices. The spices are similar to others found in the typical Tex-Mex dishes. Added chile sauce is also similar in style Tex-Mex and Louisiana hot sauce. Hot sauce is very common and is an added condiment to add an extra touch of warmth to any dish.
Even the sauce is a bit different in the Tex-Mex. Salsa typically includes tomatoes, peppers, onions and other spices. In Tex-Mex, salsa has a large amount of cilantro added.
If you ever visit to Texas, it is interesting to try unique foods of the region. You can enjoy Mexican classics with a touch of Texas. Many dishes are available, but do not be surprised when the dish arrives and food does not taste the same. It is part of the experience you have when you eat Tex-Mex
