Indian Cricket Jersey- The Hottest Thing

Cricket being India’s no.1 sport, it comes as little surprise that the Team India jersey has always created a lot of buzz and curiosity. That’s why when the current Indian team jersey was launched in early 2009, it ended up making headlines. Cricket fans in this country closely follow their cricket team and anything to do with the team is scrutinized. Obviously, something as visible as a jersey would be the focal point and you can be rest assured that every cricket fan would have his take on the color and the design of the Indian cricket jersey. While some would be appreciative, the others would be critical.Right from the time when India donned their first colored jerseys in the 1985 Benson and Hedges World Championship to the recently concluded series, the one day cricket jersey has always been a hot topic for discussion. Many color combinations have been tried from time to time. While some have remained in the memory of the general public, the others have simply disappeared from the public memory. The 1992 World Cup jersey is one such example. The public discarded this not so impressive dark blue jersey from their memory primarily due to India’s disastrous outing. After this not so successful experiment, the dark blue color was ditched for light blue and in subsequent years, the Indian team donned jerseys with various versions of light blue. The 1996 and 1999 World Cup saw the Indian team sporting light blue jerseys with yellow being the secondary color. The 2003 World Cup was a little shift in terms of the color combination used. We got to see a slightly darker version of blue with the Indian tricolor used very effectively. In fact, in many of the polls conducted, the 2003 World Cup jersey emerged as the most favorite.Team jerseys have always been popular among the masses and that’s why different companies have tried their hand at newer ideas and concepts. One such concept is that of personalization. Personalization allows you to add stuff of your choice. In short, you can add your own identity to the product you are buying. Nike which released the current Indian cricket jersey back in 2009 joined Myntra and came out with personalized team India jerseys. The best aspect about this feature is that you can add your name and number to your Indian team jersey. This new idea proved to be a massive success and people were queuing up to buy personalized team India jerseys.Indeed, as long as cricket continues to be popular in India, the team India jersey will also be in huge demand. Especially, with the Indian cricket team doing so well of late, the Indian cricket jersey is surely the hottest thing around.
