Mike Starr dead: five facts about late Alice in Chains bassist
Former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr was found dead Tuesday afternoon (March 8).
TMZ reports that police found the body of Starr in Salt Lake City, Utah, headquarters of 1:42 pm He was 44.
One co-founder of the pioneering grunge band from Seattle, Starr appeared on "Celebrity Rehab" VH1 2009. He was arrested last month for possession of a controlled substance offense. Salt Lake City police said they had more pain on him when arrested. Alicia wrote in chains heartbreaking and evocative songs of addiction.
The former lead singer Layne Staley died in the spring of 2002 after an overdose of a mixture of heroin and cocaine, commonly called "Speedball." The group mounted a successful comeback with the 2009 Black gives way to blue, which was the new singer William DuVall, with guitarist Jerry Cantrell, Sean Kinney drummer and bassist Mike Inez.

"He showed an episode of the upcoming season of" Celebrity Rehab ", which celebrates more than six months of abstinence. He was arrested for possession of Salt Lake City police on February 18, 2011.
Travis Meeks Days of the band New driving the van was traveling on Starr when he was arrested last month. The singer / guitarist found platinum success with his first album of his group in 1997 and a sound that made comparisons to Alice in Chains. Meeks to several different versions of the band in the following years, and their own drug problems put him on the A & E show "Intervention" in 2005.

According to a Ticketmaster list of "Days of the New Travis Meeks and Mike Starr" was scheduled to appear March 19 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Father Mike told TMZ the death of his son is "a terrible shock and a tragedy."
Starr appeared in the third season of "Celebrity Rehab" in 2009 – and was arrested last month for an offense of possession of a controlled substance. Salt Lake police the city say that there were six tablets of Xanax and 6 Opana (painkiller) pills when it broke.
Starr was 44.
Papa Mike told TMZ: "It's a terrible shock and a tragedy."
Mike Starr, bassist original Alice in Chains has been a long battle with heroin addiction, was found dead on Tuesday. He was 44 years.
Starr's body was discovered in a private residence in Salt Lake City, but the cause of death remains unknown. "There was no indication that foul play by another person," he told authorities, according to The Guardian.
Shortly after 1992, Advanced group's album, "Dirt," Starr separated from Alice in Chains midtour and was replaced by bassist Mike Inez Black Sabbath. Years later Starr admitted that the reason for his departure was a growing addiction.

1. His death marks a second tragedy of Alice in Chains
In April 2002, Alice in Chains singer Layne Staley founder, who also suffered from a serious addiction to heroin, died of an overdose at his home in Seattle.
2. It was "Celebrity Rehab" patient
In 2009, Starr appeared in the third season of VH1 Celebrity Rehab "with Dr. Drew" with actor Tim Sizemore and Dennis Rodman. Despite the medical attention received, Starr always seemed be struggling with addiction.
3. He was arrested three weeks ago
Starr was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance crime Feb. 17 in Salt Lake City. Held in bail of $ 20 000.
4. He also played in Sun Red Sun
Sun Red Sun was a supergroup Heavy Metal 1992 and 1993 and involved with Starr drummer Bobby Rondinelli (Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult), singer Ray Gillen (Badlands, Black Sabbath) and guitarist Al Romano (Joey Belladonna).
5. He will be missed by fans and the community of rock
